July 2014

Garlic harvested, a bit smaller than I'd hoped for.

Dried in the sun for two days, now in the greenhouse to finish off.

Radish and peas growing.

First radish to survive the slugs - Started off in growbags in the greenhouse, then transplanted outside under bottles until stronger.

Three mindee's planted out their pumpkins at the allotment this week & they made some lovely labels with their names on to identify their own plant.

Don't plant through cardboard!!!!! Slugs devoured these pumpkins : ( One survived.....

this one! Hoping we get enough pumpkins for everyone from this one survivor!

Tomatoes starting to fruit

Onions loosened to start drying off.

Even a small harvest : )

One marigold plant survived the slugs.

Butternut squash & a flower close up.

The first marigold to flower! (That hasn't being devoured by slugs)

Garlic nearly ready to lift.....

The mindee's growing pumpkin seeds. Very fast growing - great for little ones.

Arrived at the lottie JUST in time to shelter in the shed!

Loving the new bench.

Look at that sky!

Still a productive morning despite waiting out the rain.

Attempting to secure the greenhouse with sandbags and cableties....we'll see!

Protecting the brassicas.

 Runner beans planted out.

Strawberries growing well, throwing off lots of runners over fruit though. Removing these now.

Lots of clearing, weeding and neatening up, autumn raspberries in the tyre.

Comfrey growing well and attracting the bee's.

Collecting a few free helpful aids, drawers from the tip and a cheap hanging basket.

Hanging basket planted up with tomato & sweetpeas with keen help from youngest mindee.

October 2013 to Febuary 2014

With the dark evenings from October and well into January I spent Saturdays clearing all the bindweed roots from bed 3 - It took this long!

Along the way some wildlife, rainbow and gorgeous twilight views.

 Slow steady progress
Garlic planted.
